Twitter announced Friday that it has implemented safeguards after an employee deactivated President Trump’s account on his or her last day of work.

“We have implemented safeguards to prevent this from happening again,” Twitter Government announced Friday.

“We won’t be able to share all details about our internal investigation or updates to our security measures, but we take this seriously and our teams are on it," it said. Twitter Government is Twitter's government outreach division.

The announcement came after Twitter Government opened an investigation into the 11-minute outage of the president’s account on Thursday, which was revealed to be the fault of a customer support contract employee on his or her last day of work.

In response to the chaos, Trump said the short outage of his account by a “rogue employee” shows that he’s “having an impact.”
