After facing tough questions about his surveillance programs today, President Obama reminded Americans that Congress was in charge of oversight.

According to the transcript, Obama made at least fifteen explicit references to Congress, reminding the audience that the controversial programs were both the result of legislation passed in Congress and overseen by Congress.

“These are the folks that you all vote for, as your representatives in Congress and they’re being full briefed,” Obama stated emphatically.
