Tempers flared on Capitol Hill Thursday when Speaker of the House John Boehner, R-Ohio, discussed the controversy surrounding the U.S.-Mexico border.

"This is a problem of the president's own making," shouted Rep. Boehner. "He's been president for five and a half years! When's he going to take responsibility for something?"

President Obama this week asked congress to pass an emergency supplemental spending bill for $4.3 billion, which includes money to stop the flow of undocumented children illegally crossing the border.

"I can tell you this, though. We're not giving the President a blank check," said the Speaker.

Rep. Boehner is not keen on the idea of supplying the President with billions of dollars when he believes this is Obama's own doing.

"His actions gave false hope to children and their families — if they enter the country illegally they'll be allowed to stay," Rep. Boehner said.

"Don't mess with the children," House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said. "But give us the money to deal with it."

A Senate hearing on the issue is expected to take place Thursday afternoon.
