Incumbent Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., released his first television ad Tuesday in his 2014 re-election bid.
His challenger, Republican Ed Gillespie, announced his bid for senate back in January.
"As Virginia's Senator, I'll vote to repeal Obamacare which is strangling small businesses," Gillespie says in his television ad.
Two others have also thrown their hats into the ring: Republicans Shak Hill and Chuck Moss.
Both Gillespie and Warner tout their skills at finding bipartisan accord.
"Mark Warner fights to give everyone a fair shot," Warner's new TV ad says. "As governor, he brought Democrats and Republicans together."
"I've advised some of our country's biggest employers how to get things done with bipartisan support," boasts Gillespie's ad.
Polls show Warner is ahead of Gillespie by 19 points.
