After a 14-year congressional run Rep. Eric Cantor, R-Va., will officially step down from Congress Monday. Cantor lost handily to Tea Party-backed candidate Dave Brat in a June primary due in large part to voter dissatisfaction within his own party.

Cantor had previously said he'd serve out his full term, however, shortly after stepping down as House Majority Leader on July 31, he announced he would resign from Congress early in an effort to get his successor into office early.

Cantor has called for a special election to be held in November.
