Lightning struck Trump Tower in Chicago Tuesday night just as the building's namesake was winning the Illinois Republican primary.
Trump won Illinois with 38.8 percent of the vote and took home 49 delegates.
In the Chicago and Northern Illinois area, there were reports of multiple tornadoes, thunder, lightning and hail that resulted in damage across the state.
Trump Tower sits prominently in the Chicago skyline.
The "TRUMP" sign that emblazons the building has been criticized as a eyesore by some, including Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, a Hillary Clinton backer.
