CNN put the nation's newest spelling bee champion to the test Friday morning and asked her to spell the word invented by President Trump that took social media by storm earlier this week: covfefe.

Ananya Vinay, who won the Scripps National Spelling Bee on Thursday night, approached the challenge as if she were back on stage in Oxon Hill, Md.

The 12-year-old asked CNN hosts to define the word, and asked about its origin in an effort to divine its spelling.

The word "covfefe" was seemingly invented by President Trump earlier this week when he included it in a tweet that was later deleted. But Trump implored the media to "figure out the true meaning" of the word.

Vinay, unfortunately, misspelled "covfefe," saying it was spelled "c-o-f-e-f-e." But a CNN host said that was "good enough."
