President Trump got a laugh from Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah on Thursday by poking fun at the media after the sheikh railed against Qatari press for focusing on problems between Qatar and other Arab states.
The emir was asked about the conflict between Qatar and a coalition of Arab states, including Kuwait. During his answer, the emir blamed part of the issue on Qatari media.
"Thank god now what is important is that we have stopped any military action and this dispute, as I said, there are complicated and we have seen the media campaign that is totally unacceptable to the people," he said. "The media coming out of this country is against the people, not the rulers."
In response, Trump closed the press conference with a joke about his own fights with American media.
"Well, that is a problem that we will get resolved. I'm very, very honored and happy to know that you have problems with the media also," Trump said to laughs.
