President Trump kissed a tax return postcard that would become a part of the new tax reform plan unveiled by the Republican lawmakers on Thursday.
"Great job, thank you very much. I didn't know I was going to be given a prop," Trump said before kissing the card while discussing the new tax plan with Republicans at the White House.
Trump was sitting between House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., and Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady, R-Texas.
The postcard would offer some taxpayers a simplified filing option — a single-page tax return form that has been touted by Republicans since they began working on tax reform under the new administration. Trump said Thursday that his administration is committed to delivering "big, beautiful" tax cuts by Christmas.
"I applaud the House Ways and Means Committee for introducing the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which is another important step toward providing massive tax relief for the American people," Trump said in a statement after GOP lawmakers revealed the tax bill.
