On Tuesday, video was released by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) showing one of their men beheading American journalist James Foley. Foley went missing in Syria in November 2012 and hadn't been seen since.

President Obama addressed the nation, saying, "The entire world is appalled by the brutal murder of Jim Foley."

Obama also said that this type of violence has no place in the 21st century.

Attorney General Eric Holder paid a visit to Ferguson, Mo., this week to see first-hand the unrest stemming from the shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown. Upon his return to Washington, Holder said the Justice Department will thoroughly investigate the case.

Next week, Obama gets back to work after returning from his Martha's Vineyard, Mass., vacation on Sunday.
