The White House is asking the media to respect Barron Trump's privacy after a column published on a conservative website criticized the 11-year-old's clothing.
President Trump's youngest son "deserves every opportunity to have a private childhood," said Stephanie Grisham, a spokeswoman for first lady Melania Trump.
The column, published by the Daily Caller on Monday, called for Barron Trump to "dress the part" of being first son.
Chelsea Clinton, who spent her teenage years in the White House, defended the younger Trump.
"It's high time the media & everyone leave Barron Trump alone & let him have the private childhood he deserves," Clinton tweeted.
