President Trump said Wednesday that the White House is expecting to hold a 1 p.m. press conference if the House is able to pass a final version of the tax cut bill Wednesday morning.

"The United States Senate just passed the biggest in history Tax Cut and Reform Bill. Terrible Individual Mandate (ObamaCare)Repealed. Goes to the House tomorrow morning for final vote," Trump tweeted Wednesday.

"If approved, there will be a News Conference at The White House at approximately 1:00 P.M.," he added.

The Senate passed the bill along party lines shortly after midnight Wednesday, 51 to 48. But because the bill as passed by the House includes language that wasn't allowed on a budget reconciliation bill, the Senate had to strip out two pieces of the bill, and the House will have to vote on the bill again Wednesday before it goes to the president's desk.

House Republicans were hoping to pass the bill again as soon as possible Wednesday, but it wasn't clear they would be able to do so before noon.
