The experience of millions of Americans has disproved President Obama's promise that they will be able to keep their health care plan under Obamacare.
But despite multiple new promises to fix the health care website and tell the truth that some may experience policy cancellations, the president’s White House site is still making the false promise.
On the web page dedicated to explaining Obamacare, and under the tab titled “About the new law,” it reads:
“For those Americans who already have health insurance, the only changes you will see under the law are new benefits, better protections from insurance company abuses, and more value for every dollar you spend on health care. If you like your plan you can keep it and you don’t have to change a thing due to the health care law.”
Tennessee Republican Sen. Lamar Alexander pointed it out today at a health care hearing. To administration officials, he said, “Your own website as of this morning still quotes the president saying, ‘If you like your plan you can keep it and you don’t have to change a thing due to the health care law.’ ”Paul Bedard, The Washington Examiner's "Washington Secrets" columnist, can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org.
