Metro riders making plans for the weekend should note that track work will affect service on all lines starting at 10 p.m. Friday and running through the weekend.

But riders won’t have to work around any station shutdowns for the weekend, a respite from bus shuttles that bridge the gaps.

Instead, trains will be sharing a single track in multiple spots, causing delays down the line. Here’s where the work is planned to occur:

Red Line:

  • Between Shady Grove and Twinbrook
  • Between New York Avenue and Rhode Island Avenue

Orange Line:

  • Between Eastern Market and Stadium-Armory
  • Between East Falls Church and West Falls Church

Blue Line:

  • Between Eastern Market and Stadium-Armory

Green Line:

  • Between Naylor Road and Branch Avenue

Yellow Line:

  • No single tracking will occur on the line but service will be affected by the Green Line work, with trains running every 16 minutes.

The good news? Metro said this week that it is planning a spring break from track work for the National Cherry Blossom Festival, which is five weeks long this year. The relief starts March 24.
