Pollster John Zogby reports in our White House report card that President Obama’s had a good week being out of sight on vacation in Hawaii.
"The president is in Hawaii and has gotten decent weather so far. How bad could that be? Making things better, he received decent economic news about unemployment applications and better reports about Obamacare registrations. A total of 2 million-plus are now said to be enrolled in his namesake health insurance program — a total of 6 million new insured if we count those who are now on the Medicaid expansion.
“Some buzz about Secretary of State John Kerry presenting a new framework for peace talks to the Israelis and Palestinians is also very helpful. But trouble in Lebanon and South Sudan worsen — but no Americans are in harm's way thanks to evacuations operated by the U.S. Marine Corps.
“Times Square on New Year's Eve went on without a hitch. And the GOP is presenting the president and the Dems a big gift by not expanding unemployment. GOP Walmart shoppers and NASCAR fans are unemployed too, folks.”
