Dwarf antelope dies at Chicago’s Lincoln Park Zoo

CHICAGO (AP) — Officials of Chicago’s Lincoln Park Zoo say a female klipspringer calf named Asha unexpectedly died this week.

The zoo was chosen to breed klipspringers — which are dwarf antelope found in central and eastern Africa — as part of a species survival program. The calf was born in March and her mother was unable to provide adequate care. Zookeepers stepped in to provide around-the-clock care following her birth.
