weekend filming an episode of “Giada’s Weekend Getaways.”

On Friday night, Giada hopped on a Segway for a nighttime tour around the city. She and her crew also filmed at the Ritz-Carlton downtown (where she stayed), Citronelle and Café Atlantico.

Originally, they had planned to film at the Dancing Crab in Tenleytown, said a source with knowledge of the production, but once they realized it was more of a bar scene in there, they took their act to the Maine Avenue Wharf.

Other sightings:

» CARE honored actress Mary Steenburgen at the Colombian Ambassador’s Residence in Dupont Circle last week. Hillary Clinton was a surprise guest for Steenburgen, as both the actress and Clinton’s husband Bill are from Little Rock, Ark.

» On Thursday evening, former Sen. George Allen, R-Va., pleaded with a Yeas & Nayssource near the National Building Museum, asking them to pull their car up a few feet so his car could fit in a parking spot (oh, remember those sweet days when Allen didn’t have to do all the driving himself?). Our source obliged and Allen was grateful and cordial, even introducing his wife (no footballs were spotted, sadly). “What, Allen doesn’t use valet?” our source wondered.

» Scooter Libby having lunch at the Four Seasons on Friday with an unidentified associate.

» Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., flying coach to Boston on US Airways (did Teresa not give him his weekly allowance?!?) Thursday evening. No staff, just the junior senator from Massachusetts and his reading material.
