The death of a Howard High School graduate is the second fatal crash in Howard County in the last week.
Karen Marie Schall, 20, of Briar Oak Court in Ellicott City, was driving in a 2001 KIA Rio in Ellicott City at about 3:09 a.m. Saturday when she drove off the right side of Montgomery Road, just east of Bonne Branch Road, county police said.
The car hit an evergreen tree, crashed through a fence, destroyed a storage shed and stopped next to a nearby house. Schall was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Policesaid Sunday that they are investigating the cause of the crash.
Early Wednesday morning, the driver of a recycling truck, Alan David Carr, 41, was killed after his vehicle flipped over, and he was ejected.
