Tuesday marks the beginning of National U.S. Navy Aircraft Carrier Month, which is chock full of historic naval aviation milestones.
On Nov. 5, 1918, for example, Capt. Henry C. Mustin made the first catapult launch from a ship, according to a website marking the month-long celebration. Nov. 25 marks 55 years since the commissioning of the USS Enterprise, the first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier.
