Melania Trump speaks out on election: ‘We must protect our democracy with complete transparency’

First lady Melania Trump declared, “Americans deserve fair elections” after a report claimed she advised her husband to accept he lost the election.

“The American people deserve fair elections. Every legal – not illegal – vote should be counted. We must protect our democracy with complete transparency,” Trump tweeted Sunday.

The news comes after CNN reported that Melania Trump allegedly advised her husband to concede he lost to Joe Biden.

“And first lady Melania Trump has advised the President the time has come for him to accept the election loss, a separate source familiar with the conversations told CNN on Sunday,” CNN reported Sunday. “Though the first lady has not publicly commented on the election, she has privately weighed in with her opinion, the source noted.”

Media outlets claimed Joe Biden as the victor of the 2020 presidential election, which the president pushed back on as Biden “has not been certified as the winner of any states.”

“Joe Biden has not been certified as the winner of any states, let alone any of the highly contested states headed for mandatory recounts, or states where our campaign has valid and legitimate legal challenges that could determine the ultimate victor,” Trump said in a written statement Saturday after the calls that Biden won. “In Pennsylvania, for example, our legal observers were not permitted meaningful access to watch the counting process. Legal votes decide who is president, not the news media.”
