Donald Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was vandalized over the weekend when an unknown person spray-painted a black swastika over Trump’s sidewalk star, according to Reddit.
The local police informed the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce about it Friday and the chamber swiftly moved to clean away the Nazi symbol.
“The Hollywood Walk of Fame is an institution celebrating the positive contributions of the inductees,” the chamber’s president Leron Gubler said in a statement. “When people are unhappy with one of our honorees, we would hope that they would project their anger in more positive ways then to vandalize a California state landmark.”
Trump, ranked first in the Washington Examiner’s presidential power rankings, has been criticized for, among other things, suggesting that the government should issue a religion test for immigrants and keep a close eye on mosques.
Police said they would enhance their presence along the Walk of Fame corridor at the 6800 block of Hollywood Boulevard.
