Donations to help a young man with brain cancer who was mocked by late-night news satire show “Full Frontal with Samantha Bee” passed the $100,000 mark on Saturday.
Kyle Coddington, a college student a contributor for OUTSET magazine, appeared in a montage of CPAC attendees sporting similar “Nazi haircuts” as part of a “Wither Conservatism” segment which aired Wednesday.

After it was pointed out that the segment made fun of someone with stage 4 cancer who had reportedly just received his first round of chemotherapy treatment before CPAC, the show apologized. In a tweet tagging Coddington’s Twitter account, the show said, “We only learned of his condition today & have removed him from the piece.”
We deeply apologize for offending @_that_kyle in our CPAC segment. We only learned of his condition today & have removed him from the piece.

In the aftermath of pulling the video, a GoFundMe page, that was started in December to pay for expenses related to Coddington’s cancer treatment, got a big boost. A spokesperson for TBS confirmed to the Washington Examiner that a $1,000 donation, the largest one listed on the page at the time on Thursday, was given by “Full Frontal with Samantha Bee” was indeed from the show. “We wish you the best, Kyle!”, it said in a note. While the page had only raised about $6,000 by Thursday afternoon, the Washington Examiner’s T. Becket Adams pointed out, by Saturday it passed the $100,000 mark. The stated goal of the fund was $2,500. The largest donation is now $10,000 from Kym Rapier.
The GoFundMe page also likely got a boost after Coddington appeared on “Fox and Friends” on Friday.
“It is kind of a half-apology I would say. The effects of this go much further than just insulting me and an illness itself,” Coddington said of the show’s apology on Twitter. “It’s just inconsiderate and unprofessional to lump together anyone with a certain hairstyle for the way they look.”
