It’s usually a toast, but Democratic senators on Wednesday decided the best way to celebrate the health care vote was with a spoonful.
Gathering in their cloakroom, a tipster reports, Democratic senators gulped down some of Legal Sea Foods’ New England clam chowder.
The reason? It was to honor the late Sen. Ted Kennedy, who championed health care reform as his principal issue. Kennedy was a huge fan of the Boston-based chain and especially the restaurant’s clam chowder.
