“Veep” has returned to D.C. this week. No, not the Veep, Vice President Biden (though we’re sure he’s around here somewhere), but rather actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus, as her HBO show films scenes in the District through Saturday.
Louis-Dreyfus is only expected in town Tuesday for the first day of the shoot, with the crew grabbing footage from the National Mall, near the Capitol Building and in upper Northwest, by the NBC studios. Louis-Dreyfus was spotted in downtown D.C. shooting parts of the pilot in March, even though most of the show was filmed in neighboring Baltimore.
“Veep,” which casts Louis-Dreyfus as a senator-turned-vice president, was officially picked up by HBO in April and will air sometime in 2012.
