Same-sex marriage wins: Supreme Court denies appeals, allows state decisions

Same-sex marriages are now legal in five states.

The U.S. Supreme Court denied appeals in Indiana, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Virginia and Utah on Monday, its first order of business this term.

Couples in those states should be able to soon marry.

Same-sex marriage is now legal in 30 states and the District of Columbia.

No additional grants were issued Monday morning. Read the court order here.
