WASHINGTON (AP) — Police in the nation’s capital are seeking the public’s help in recovering a pair of stolen elephant tusks that had been given to the city decades ago by the late Ethiopian Emperor Haile Selassie I.
Officers said Wednesday that the ivory tusks were stolen last August from the John A. Wilson building, which houses city government. The tusks were given to the city in 1954.
