McDonnell makes more appointments

Virginia Gov.Bob McDonnell announced several appointments to his administration on Friday.

McDonnell appointed Brig.Gen. Wayne A. Wright acting head of the state’s national guard.

He also appointed Aaron Mathes, who previously served as the chief information officer and information security officer in the Office of the Attorney General, as deputy secretary of technology.

Stephen Tyndall was appointed policy analyst in the Department of General Services.

McDonnell also appointed Diana F. Cantor, wife of U.S. Rep. Eric Cantor, R-Va., as the chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of the Virginia Retirement System. She was the founding executive director of the Virginia College Savings Plan from 1996 to 2007 and was previously a vice president at Goldman Sachs.
