Kamala Harris bursts into laughter over 2020 talk

Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., burst out into laughter when talk of 2020 came up Tuesday evening.

The moment happened at the conclusion of an interview on MSNBC that largely focused on Harris’ support for the bipartisan DREAM Act following the Trump administration’s decision Tuesday to rescind the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program for illegal immigrants.

“Well, I guess you’ll just continue to think about what you might do in 2020 and we can talk about it the next time,” said host Lawrence O’Donnell.

“Lawrence, I don’t even know what I’m having for dinner,” Harris replied before bursting into a bout of laughter.

Though she is rumored to be top prospect for the Democratic Party to take on President Trump in the next election, Harris has largely dodged talk of the 2020 election cycle. Speculation has heated up as the former California attorney general has done some fundraising, including in the Hamptons in July.

Some fellow Democrats have also said they expect Harris to run.

“She’s going to be knocking on doors in Iowa,” said former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa in a recent interview.
