Montgomery County is offering curbside recycling of Christmas trees. Now through Feb. 3, Montgomery residents can place the entire tree by the curb on 7 a.m. on their regular recycling collection day. Trees must have all decorations — including tinsel and garland — removed, as well as tree stands. Wreaths and roping are typically bound with wire and cannot be recycled unless the wire is removed from the greens. Without wiring, greens may be placed in paper lawns bags and placed curbside for collection on recycling days. After Feb. 3, Christmas trees can be recycled thought the county’s curbside yard trim recycling program.
