A new USA Today/Gallup poll puts President Obama’s approval rating at 55 percent, which ranks him 10th among 12 post-World War II presidents at the same point in the survey. His approval is down from 61 percent in late May.
This comes on a day that Rasmussen shows Romney dead even with Obama in a theoretical 2012 match-up. Palin trails by just six points in a head to head. Some Palin-haters seem to think this is evidence of Palin’s weakness as a candidate, but it’s hard to imagine any politician have a worse six months than Palin just did and she’s only six points back. Per Allahpundit, “This says more about the downturn in The One’s approval ratings than it does about Mitt or Sarahcuda.” You betcha, but a pleasant and surprising result nonetheless.
