WHO: The Social Security Administration WHAT: Paid $18 million in stimulus money to 71,000 dead people and another $40 million in benefits payments to 1,760 deceased, according to a report from Sen. Tom Coburn.

WHY IT’S AN OUTRAGE: That money could have supported a lot of retirees, but instead goes to dormant bank accounts or more often to relatives of the deceased.
