GOP group releases video blasting Clinton for classified email controversy

When it comes to Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton, Republican opposition research firm America Rising shows no mercy.

The Virginia-based super PAC, led by Mitt Romney’s former campaign manager, released a new web video Monday titled “Failed Leadership,” featuring a barrage of statements from political strategists and media personalities about Clinton’s transmittance of classified information via her private email server and the resulting FBI investigation.

“How do you have a private email server as secretary of state and scrub it and I’m going to believe you?” MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski says in the video’s closing soundbite. “You think the American public is that stupid?”

The 1.5-minute video is the latest anti-Clinton web ad created by the GOP group. In the last four months, America Rising has posted four separate videos to its YouTube channel that question Clinton’s sincerity and decry her acceptance of foreign donations to the Clinton Foundation while serving as secretary of state.

Joe Pounder, president of the PAC, previously told the Washington Examiner that his group has been focused on researching Clinton since its inception.

“We’re looking for constant opportunities, on a day-to-day basis, to exploit that research,” he said.

The latest video comes less than a week after a majority of American voters said they support a criminal investigation into the former secretary of state’s private email server, according to a Monmouth University poll.
