Police: Spat spurred car hit

Prince William County police arrested a Stafford man Friday on charges he rammed his car into a another car containing a woman and a baby following an argument around 2:30 a.m. on U.S. Route 1 in Woodbridge. Timothy Avean Barrett, 46, was allegedly under the influence at the time of the accident. The 42-year-old woman he was arguing with and the 11-month-old infant were not injured in the ramming, according to a police report. The police report on the incident said marijuana was also found. – Dan Genz

Man shot in hand during recording session

Manassas City police are looking for a suspect who reportedly shot a man in the hand during a music recording session at a town house Nov. 30, Sgt. Tim Neumann said Thursday. The suspect allegedly left the house and returned with a rifle and fired when the other man grabbed the end of the rifle in a brief struggle. Police are seeking information about a man identified only as “Dee,” a black male, 20 to 30 years old, 5 feet 5 inches tall, 140 pounds, with medium-length black braided hair wearing a black Columbia coat and blue jeans. – Dan Genz

Alleged carjacker up a creek

A 17-year-old Derwood boy has been arrested in the armed carjacking of a man working for a snow removal company overnight Wednesday. Montgomery County police said Najee Griffin, of the 15500 block of Villisca Terrace, was being held at the county Detention Center on $500,000 bail bond Friday. He is accused of carjacking a 44-year-old man as he sat in his Chevrolet Tahoe in a parking lot on the 15700 block of Crabbs Branch Way around 1:35 a.m. Thursday.
