Knucklehead Award: Glen Davis, Celtics forward

Big Baby, grow up.

The Celtics forward was fined $25,000 by the NBA on Thursday for shouting an obscenity to a fan at The Palace of Auburn Hills during Wednesday night’s loss to the Pistons.

What did the bold heckler say to the LSU alum that once body-slammed Shaquille O’Neal during a friendly wrestling match? He went after his waistline, calling Davis “fat boy.”

Dude, you’re a 289-pound overweight forward. You’re telling me in all your years of playing basketball you’re not used to being teased about your weight?

An apology was posted via the “GlenDavisNBA” Twitter account.

“I’m a tough competitor and I’m proud of the work I’ve done to get in shape and be at the top of my game,” the apology read. “That said, I shouldn’t have said what I did. My apologies to the fans and my teammates.”

Weight is a sensitive subject, but you’re a 24-year-old basketball star. If it really bothered you, just ask for security to escort the fan out of the arena.

Big Baby, stop worrying about opposing fans and focus on how you can help your team end a three-game losing streak.
