HOLBROOK, N.Y. (AP) — Suffolk County Police say a 50-year-old Holbrook woman has died after apparently drowning in her backyard pool.
Police said officers and Holbrook Fire Department personnel found Karen Gabrielsen unconscious and not breathing when they responded to an emergency call at 9:33 p.m. Saturday.
She was taken from her Railroad Avenue home to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue, where she was pronounced dead.
