TRIATHLON
June 27: I Love the Tavern Triathlon, Midlothian, Va., 7 a.m. The 500-meter swim is in the James River, with water temperature to be warm and wetsuits illegal. The bike portion of the race is 18.8 miles and the run is 3 miles, 70 percent on a trail. Info: richmondmultisports.com.
July 10: Diamond in the Rough Triathlon, Perryville, Md., 8 a.m. The triathlon in Northeast Maryland includes a one-mile swim in the mouth of the Susquehanna River and Chesapeake Bay, a challenging 27-mile bike course and 5-mile run.
July 11: The 14.06 Triathlon, Manassas, 7:30 a.m. The mini-triathlon includes a 425-yard pool swim (17 lengths), a 11.2-mile bike ride and a 2.6-mile run. Info: triitnow.com.
