WATCH: Louis Farrakhan calls America ‘the most rotten nation on Earth’

Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan called America “the most rotten nation on Earth” in a video making the rounds of social media over the past 24 hours.

Speaking to the Nation of Islam’s Saviours’ Day 2017 convention in Chicago in late February, Farrakhan addressed President Trump’s pre-Super Bowl interview with Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly in which he questioned the innocence of the U.S. because it has “a lot of killers,” during an exchange about working with Russia to defeat terrorism abroad.

Farrakhan mentioned there was fierce backlash to how Trump replied to a point made by O’Reilly questioning how the president could work with Russian President Vladimir Putin when he’s “a killer.”

“There are a lot of killers. We’ve got a lot of killers,” was Trump’s reply. “What do you think — our country’s so innocent?”

Many Americans did not take kindly to having their country compared to Putin, but Farrakshan opined that Americans are not “as good” as Putin or Russia.

“No, you’re not as good as Mr. Putin or Russia, ’cause the judgment of God is not on Russia, the judgment of God is on America,” Farrakhan said. “You are the most rotten nation on the Earth. That is why God has come, and you are number one on His list to be destroyed.”

Farrakhan shared the video of these remarks on his Twitter account Tuesday evening, which has since been panned and teased by several Twitter users.

“I think Pat Robertson has hacked Louis Farrakhan’s twitter account,” said conservative writer and radio host Erick Erickson, referring to the former Southern Baptist minister known for his own doomsday rhetoric.

Farrakhan is no stranger to prognosticating the demise of the U.S. In 2012, for example, he said “every plague that is written in the Koran is going to come to pass in America.”
