Republicans elevate Fimian to ‘Young Gun’

Keith Fimian is now a “Young Gun.”

No, not one of these.

The National Republican Congressional Committee elevated Fimian, the GOP’s candidate in Virginia’s 11th Congressional District, to full “Young Gun” status in the congressional recruitment program of the same name.

Americans “want leaders in Congress who can control wasteful spending and create an environment favorable to economic growth and job creation— something big-spending career politicians like Gerry Connolly simply have no idea how to do,” Fimian said.

Fimian had previously been a “Contender” — a step above candidates who are “On the Radar.”

Still, James Walkinshaw, campaign manager for Fimian’s opponent, U.S. Rep. Gerald Connolly, D-Va., didn’t seem too impressed.

“It’s quite a coalition Keith is building,” he said. “First, he joins the Tea Party. Now he sidles up to John Boehner, Joe Barton and the rest of the Washington Republican establishment. What’s next? An endorsement from Dick Cheney? Or the Flat Earth Society?”

If you’re counting at home, it’s just over four months until Election Day…
