The sound of a popping cork can set the mood about as well as a tune by Marvin Gaye.
“For me, there are only two options,” Bin 604 owner and wine consultant Tony Foreman said. “Champagne, from good non-vintaged krug always evokes a thrill. Champagne is something precious, romantic and eternal. The other [option] is always a wine from Bordeau. We had one on my wedding night called Chateau Haut Brion.”
Another wine that sets the stage for romance is cabernet, according to Aida Bistro owner Joe Barbera.
“One of the best pairings that people don?t know about is chocolate and cabernet,” he said. “[Cabernet] has cocoa overtones in it and is absolutely to die for with chocolate truffles or bittersweet chocolate.”
