Paul camp: Newt’s staff broke my supporter’s foot

Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, said today that Newt Gingrich should pay the medical bills for a supporter whose foot was broken, according to Paul’s campaign, by Gingrich staffers in Florida.

“Newt’s campaign staff broke Eddie Dillard’s foot, yet we still have not heard from Gingrich about how he plans to right the situation,” Paul’s campaign chairman, Jess Benton, said in a statement. “Today, we are calling on Newt Gingrich to pay for Eddie’s medical bills.”

According to Politico, Dillard dispayed a Paul sign at a Gingrich rally and was “roughed up” when he refused to leave. Paul’s campaign also said that Dillard is filing criminal charges.
