Emily’s List gala to propel Hillary into Tuesday speaking slot

Hillary Clinton will speak Tuesday at Barack Obama’s nominating convention, even though it is looking like this town isn’t big enough for the two former rivals.

Clinton will head to the Pepsi Center stage fresh from a special gala event in Denver hosted by Emily’s List, a group that fervently backed Clinton’s failed bid for the nomination.

Clinton will have to share the floor at the gala with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California and Michelle Obama. Bill Clinton will also arrive in Denver Tuesday and is scheduled to deliver his sixth career convention speech on Wednesday.

There are reports that Clinton and Obama aides disagree over the wording of his remarks, but his aides say he is “committed to doing whatever he can to ensure that Sen. Obama is the next president of the United States,” and “looks forward to campaigning for the presidential candidate to ensure a Democratic victory in November.”
