Two-thirds of the Washington, D.C. workforce has college degrees, making it the only place in the nation where a majority of workers have graduated from college, according to a new report from the Economic Policy Institute.
Some 66 percent of Washington workers have graduated from college, about equal to the national average of workers with no degree. Overall, 65 percent of workers outside the district have no degree.

Massachusetts is Washington’s closest competitor, with 49 percent of the state’s workforce having graduated from college.
The report suggests that wages nationally have stagnated due to the inability of non-college graduates to compete for top jobs. But it also could highlight the disconnect between Washington and the rest of the nation.
