Person killed by MARC train

A MARC commuter train struck and killed someone Tuesday morning near Baltimore, according to the train service.

The person was struck shortly after 7 a.m. by the Penn Line 517 train out of Perryville, said MARC spokesman Terry Owens.

The person, whose identity was not released, had been walking on the tracks south of the Martin Airport stop, Owens said. Police are still investigating.

Passengers on that train were transferred to an Amtrak train to complete their trip while the investigation continued.
