Obama’s exclusive ‘secret’ fundraiser

President Obama held a rare “secret fundraiser” at the Tony Jefferson Hotel last night. The entire event was closed to the press as the president met with an undisclosed group of twenty people.

According to the White House press pool, each person paid $40,000 to attend.

Ordinarily, a member of the press is allowed to attend fundraisers during the first part of the event, while the President speaks to supporters.

President Obama held two such fundraisers in Washington D.C. in December, one of which ABC reporter Matt Negrin was ordered to leave the hotel for mingling with donors after the event.
