Rosters, rosters everywhere

Here’s what we got:

Barcelona announced its travel roster for Saturday’s exhibition against Manchester United at FedEx Field (ESPN2, 7). No, it doesn’t include Lionel Messi. There was never much chance due to his participation in Copa America with Argentina.

GOALKEEPERS:  Masip, Jose Manuel Pinto, Victor Valdez

DEFENDERS: Eric Abidal, Balliu, Andreu Fontas, Maxwell, Muniesta, Gerard Pique, Carles Puyol, Rosell

MIDFIELDERS: Sergio Busquets, Carmona, Jonathan dos Santos, Andres Iniesta, Seydou Keita, Riverola, Thiago, Xavi

FORWARDS: Ibrahim Afellay, Cuenca, Pedro, Jonathan Soriano, Jeffren Suarez, David Villa

Speaking of Barcelona, blaugrana world ambassador Mia Hamm will host her fourth annual charity soccer match for the first time in Washington at the Southwest Waterfront on Sunday morning after the showdown at FedEx. Tickets are $23. The event is slated to start at 11 a.m. With the humid heat dome expected to return, bring water.

Among the participants: U.S. women’s national team members Ali Krieger and Alex Morgan, Celtics forward and former Georgetown standout Jeff Green, Capitals defenseman John Carlson, former D.C. United stars John Harkes and Eddie Pope, a number of local sports media types, including D.C. based ESPN host Tony Reali, and Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola and ex-goalkeeper Andoni Zubizarreta.

Another big name is set to be announced on Wednesday, too.

Third, Major League Soccer announced the final six additions to its slate of 32 total all-stars: goalkeeper Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake), midfielders Dwayne De Rosario (D.C. United), Juninho (Los Angeles), Osvaldo Alonso (Seattle) and Joel Lindpere (New York); and forward Eric Hassli (Vancouver). How again, did quality players like this not make the team that will face Manchester United on Wednesday night at Red Bull Arena?
