Chef, author, and humanitarian Jose Andres debuted a media company to produce food-related television series, podcasts, books, and shorts, according to a report on the project.
The premier production of Jose Andres Media will be a miniseries set in Spain and created for Discovery+.
“It’s been my dream to launch José Andrés Media for many years — to tell stories about who we are through the food we eat. Our food content will be as creative, fun, inspiring and authentic as our restaurants. I can’t wait to get started,” Andres said in a prepared statement.
“Food is so much more than just a plate of ingredients,” he continued. “It tells us where we have come from and where we’re going.”
Andres focuses on communicating with the cooking and exploration of cuisine.
He founded the World Central Kitchen and is actively seeking producers for new media projects, according to the report.
Courtney White, president of Food Network and streaming food content for Discovery, said she and her team are thrilled to work with Andres and his media company to bring his vision to a global audience, according to a statement.

“José Andrés is a one of a kind talent, world renowned and sought after for good reason, as there is no one more qualified to share food-related stories and characters centered on food culture,” she said.
