Radio Waves
As if we needed further evidence that former Sen. Fred Thompson will jump into the presidential race, we now have the Memorial Day weekend edition of his radio commentary, “The Fred Thompson Report,” on ABC Radio.

Only a couple weeks removed from taking a shot at Michael Moore on a hastily produced YouTube video, Thompson set his sights on another favorite target of the right: higher education.
After recalling that as a kid, “the more I learned about the rest of the world, the luckier I felt just having been born in America,” Thompson turns his sights on those who “even want to use Memorial Day to protest our military’s presence in Iraq.”
He then cites a study by the conservative Intercollegiate Studies Institute that concludes “American colleges and universities are failing to increase their students’ knowledge of America’s history and institutions.”
Some students, the “Law & Order” actor notes, “actually forgot part of what they’d learned in high school by the time they graduated — and I’m talking about some of our best-known Ivy League schools.”
Take that, eggheads.
