Donald Trump Jr. took a swipe at Sen. Kamala Harris’ “disingenuous’ laugh, but the 2020 Democratic presidential candidate may have gotten the last laugh.
The president’s son tweeted out a clip Friday night featuring the California senator at her launch press conference. The video was cut from a longer exchange in which a reporter said, “You’re an African American woman, but you’re also an Indian American woman,” and Harris replied, “Indeed!”, before laughing and saying she identifies “as a proud American.” In the shortened clip from Trump Jr., she can be seen and heard laughing for several seconds.
“Why is @KamalaHarris the only person that laughs at her jokes… always way to long and way too hard?” he asked. “The most disingenuous person in politics… after Hillary.”

In an apparent reference to his father President Trump, Harris hit back in a tweet, saying, “You wouldn’t know a joke if one raised you.”

Their back-and-forth on Twitter comes after Harris called for President Trump’s account to be suspended following a series of his tweets about House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff and the whistleblower who filed a complaint about his July phone call with the president of Ukraine, calling them “blatant threats.” She even sent a letter to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, asking him to suspend the president’s account.
“I believe the President’s recent tweets rise to the level that Twitter should consider suspending his account,” she wrote. “Others have had their accounts suspended for less offensive behavior. And when this kind of abuse is being spewed from the most powerful office in the United States, the stakes are too high to do nothing.”
