Despite posting on the social media platform nearly every day, President-elect Trump says he doesn’t like tweeting.
“Look, I don’t like tweeting,” Trump told Fox News in an interview set to air Wednesday. “I have other things I could be doing.”
Trump blamed the “dishonest media” for his tweeting habits.
“It’s my only way that I can counteract,” he said, citing his feud with civil rights icon Rep. John Lewis, which stretched into its fifth day on Tuesday. “When people make misstatements about me, I’m able to say it and call them out.”
Trump said if the media was honest, he would “absolutely not use Twitter.”
The incoming president plans to keep his personal Twitter account once he moves into the White House.
In a recent interview with the Times of London, Trump said his massive online presence will be a valuable tool when combating media bias.
Trump has 20 million followers on Twitter, and often uses the platform to send off fiery tweets against his critics.
