The Redskins have found a suitor for Donovan McNabb and there will be more playcallers on the move. Here are five other quarterbacks to watch during this chaotic week in the NFL:
5. Matt Hasselbeck » The 13-year veteran has thrown more interceptions than touchdowns the last three seasons and has injury concerns, but the free agent has something many teams covet in their quarterback: experience.
4. Carson Palmer » The 31-year-old wants out of Cincinnati so bad he says he’ll retire if he’s not traded. And Bengals owner Mike Brown says he won’t trade Palmer. A game of chicken will surely have an entertaining and ugly ending.
3. Vince Young » The 2006 offensive rookie of the year had his issues in Tennessee, but it’s hard to argue against his 30-17 career record. Despite never really being a dynamic passer, Young had a career-high 98.6 passer rating in nine games last season and is still only 27 years old.
2. Kyle Orton » Last season, Orton threw for 281 yards a game — fourth most in the NFL — and had a career-high in passer rating, but he only led the Broncos to three wins in 13 starts. With second-year quarterback Tim Tebow waiting for his chance to become the full-time starter, the Broncos may be looking to trade Orton.
1. Kevin Kolb » The Eagles are expected to cash in big by trading Kolb. Philadelphia already has its starting quarterback in Michael Vick and many teams are interested in the 26-year-old. He’s not proven, but his potential could lead to Philadelphia getting a first-round pick or more in a trade.
